Voicemails

You live on in my voicemails

It’s where you sound like you

You’ve present in my memories

Though no longer in your house

Your body in your chair

Your mind somewhere else

Like it wandered just too far

To trace it’s steps back home

But you live on in my memory

Where you’re painted a vibrant blue

Your smile like the sunshine

Your kindness warm and true

The garden of your body

It’s a shrine we tend for you

To preserve the man you were

The Man we always knew

I’ll hold those voice mails close

Till the day I loose them too

My cell phone cracked and crumbled

My mind returned to you

And maybe in my wandering I’ll meet you once again

To bridge the gap we lost

Back to the man I knew way when
